Hikma & Wellness is about Mental Health Consciousness
Hikma & Wellness was born from both personal experience and deep spiritual intention. The word Hikma means "wisdom" in Arabic, a reminder that within each of us lies an inner knowing that can guide our healing, even in the most difficult seasons. This practice has always been a dream of mine, one that I believe unfolded in God’s perfect timing.
For years, I carried the vision of starting a solo practice. However, life’s many responsibilities, especially the sacred work of caring for my family, required me to pause and prioritize. During that time, I navigated powerful transitions as a new mother and wife. I faced unexpected barriers, including isolation, shifts in identity, and struggles with body image and change. These deeply personal experiences didn’t hold me back. They refined my purpose.
Hikma & Wellness is a reflection of that journey. It is a space where therapy is both clinical and compassionate, grounded in professionalism and rooted in empathy. My goal is to hold space for others as they move through their own seasons of growth, uncertainty, and rediscovery especially those who, like me, have carried silent burdens while showing up for others.
I'm Malaki Musheinesh, a Palestinian American Licensed Social Worker with over 10 years of experience in the field. I wear my heart on my sleeve and lead with empathy, intention, and cultural humility in every space I serve.
My background as a school social worker, particularly in special education, has shaped my awareness of how neurodivergence, systemic barriers, and educational challenges impact children and families. I am passionate about supporting mothers as they navigate the emotional complexities of parenting and identity.
As a first-generation Arab American, I have witnessed how intergenerational trauma and cultural expectations deeply influence mental health. These lived experiences have strengthened my commitment to helping others reclaim their narratives and reconnect with their inner wisdom and resilience.
I am a proud Muslim, and my work is rooted in the Islamic principles of compassion, advocacy, and service. I believe mental health cannot be separated from faith, family, or community; it is a vital part of our collective and individual well-being.
Through Hikma & Wellness, I offer a safe and inclusive space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported. My hope is to walk with you on your journey of healing in a way that honors your identity, your ancestors, and your future.
Outside of my work, I find peace and joy in the simple rhythms of daily life, especially cooking from scratch and spending quality time with my son and husband. These grounding practices nourish my spirit and remind me of the healing power of presence, connection, and care.

Acknowledgement
At Hikma & Wellness, my work is deeply rooted in the cultural and spiritual traditions that have shaped my identity and my purpose. I honor my Palestinian heritage, the resilience of my people, and the generational strength that carries us forward.
I acknowledge the intergenerational wisdom of our ancestors, and also the intergenerational trauma that echoes through our stories born from displacement, colonization, and the struggle to preserve identity while migrating and adapting to life in the West. These experiences shape how we live, connect, and heal.
I honor the emotional and spiritual labor of those who came before us, and I carry the memory of those who sacrificed and died so that we may live with dignity, voice, and purpose. Their struggles are not forgotten; they live in our resilience, in our acts of care, and in every step we take toward healing and justice.
This work is an offering one that honors both the pain and the power we inherit, and creates space for restoration across generations.
